The University of South Carolina (USC) Aiken is a small, public university that serves as an economic engine for South Carolina. For 2018, the university has, once again, been ranked #1 Public College in the South by U.S. News & World Report. This is the university's 13th time in the number one spot. In addition, USC Aiken is ranked #1 Public College in the South by US News & World Report for service to veterans. Originally founded as a regional university, USC Aiken now enrolls students from 36 of the United States and 32 other countries.
