What qualities make someone particularly successful in business?
My area has a relatively strong analytical flavor. You don't need to be a math genius or a stats wizard. You are required to have sharp critical thinking and the ability to synthesize the information provided to you in order to enact a strategy or fix a problem.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that professionals face today?
The ever changing technology and the involvement of various entities from the business ecosystem (especially customers and suppliers). Operations and Supply Chain Management now present more opportunities—as well as challenges—with the emergence of technology and the abundance of real-time data.
