Road Warriors Rejoice! Earn an MBA Online

It is a typical situation for many young business professionals. They have been in the workforce for a few years and are ready to fast-track their careers. But taking care of the family, earning enough to provide for their welfare, plus daily demands of the job and business-related travel can hamper the ability to gain the education to advance.

But there is an alternative to going back to a brick-and-mortar institution to continue your education. Many young professionals are exploring online Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs like those offered by the University of South Carolina Aiken.

The Online MBA Advantage

According to Forbes, an online MBA program is a highly flexible alternative for working professionals for several reasons, including the following:

  • You do not have to quit your job to earn an MBA online.
  • You can do your work from virtually anywhere with Wi-Fi, including airplanes and hotel rooms. This makes it ideal for road warriors traveling for both business and pleasure.
  • Most online programs can be completed in a far shorter time than a two-year program at a brick-and-mortar institution. Or, if you have a busy schedule, the coursework in many cases can be spread out over a few years.
  • There is no need to commute to an actual location or be physically present at any one location.
  • Many companies help pay for all or part of your education.

A Quicker Ticket to a More Rewarding Career

For China native Ying Meng, continuing his education was part of fulfilling the promise of a new life in the United States. He earned an MBA from the USC Aiken online program just two years after moving from his homeland to Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Ten years ago, Meng graduated with an undergraduate degree in China where he worked as an industrialization leader for a Swiss-based company before transferring to the United States to support a new company plant.

Meng said he wanted a better degree.

“I figured the master’s degree will be a much better benefit for my career development, so I decided to go back to school,” he said.

He found an MBA program in a fully online format at the USC Aiken School of Business that allowed him to add coursework to a busy life that included his job, wife and 4-year-old son. He said he liked the content of the program and the reasonable tuition. He didn’t miss a beat when he took a family trip to Disney World in Orlando over the Thanksgiving holiday.

“I started [the USC Aiken online MBA program] in January 2018 and finished in December of the same year. It was quick.”

He is excited to have added a master’s degree to his resume and credits the MBA program with honing the leadership skills he needs to advance in his career.
