Online Options for a USC Aiken MBA

The University of South Carolina Aiken offers three online Master of Business Administration programs to meet the evolving demands of professionals and employers.

General Management Training

The general management MBA can be applied to any sector or industry. The long-time standard program for business schools across the United States and around the world, the general curriculum provides the leadership training required in any sector or industry. By choosing a general MBA, students can keep their options wide open as they explore potential career paths and learn about their own aptitudes and interests.

The USC Aiken online Master of Business Administration delivers an interdisciplinary approach to business management encompassing core courses in management and organizational behavior, marketing, accounting, financial analysis and economics.

Advanced courses cover legal and ethical issues, globalization, operations management and business analytics. A final capstone course in business vision, innovation and strategy integrates theory and application from the core areas with an emphasis on decision-making and innovation in the face of changing conditions.

Tuition for this program is $13,948, and students can complete the coursework in as few as 12 months.

Specialized Leadership Training

Two programs are specialized MBAs, which provide deeper management expertise in the respective industries of accounting and finance. These are two of the fastest growing industries in the United States. The outlook for careers in both industries is promising, with expanding management and executive roles and long-term drivers in place for strong employment well into the future.

Many universities are now offering specialized MBA programs in accounting and finance to meet the demand for industry-specific training. Employers like PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Renaissance Investment Management appreciate the skills that candidates from industry-specific MBA programs bring to their firms.

Accounting MBA

The online Master of Business Administration with a Specialization in Accounting program prepares graduates to meet the growing demand for accountants in the corporate, nonprofit and government sectors. In addition to the general MBA courses, students in this program take specialized courses in advanced accounting topics, information systems, analytics and strategy.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 10 percent job growth between 2016 and 2026 in this industry, which is faster than the average for all occupations. Globalization, a growing economy and a complex tax and regulatory environment are expected to continue to lead to strong demand in this industry.

Finance MBA

The online Master of Business Administration with a Specialization in Finance program provides training in a wide range of business applications aimed at maximizing wealth across a broad range of corporate and small business environments.

The program prepares graduates for management roles in commercial and investment banking, investment analysis and strategy, real estate, insurance, risk management, portfolio management, private wealth management, corporate strategy, project valuation and management, small business development, public finance, business consulting, private equity, government nonprofits, and more.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 19 percent job growth between 2016 and 2026 in the financial management industry. “Services provided by financial managers, such as planning, directing, and coordinating investments, are likely to stay in demand as the economy grows.” In addition, the disciplines of cash management and risk management are expected to be in high demand over the next decade. Globalization should also drive continuing demand for financial managers as companies will be in need of their expertise.

Tuition for both specialized MBA programs is $16,800, and students can complete the coursework in as few as 16 months.

Awards and Accolades

Few MBA programs — general or specialized — are as esteemed as those offered by USC Aiken. In addition, the USC Aiken School of Business — with its online MBA programs and faculty — is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. This distinction has been earned by only 6 percent of business schools worldwide.

Given these distinctions, and the longstanding excellent academic reputation of the university, it comes as no surprise that USC Aiken is selected as the college of choice by students from 36 states and 32 countries.
